Cannonball 2022 By The Numbers
We believe in financial transparency, and our long-term mission is to create a festival model in which every artist can be compensated for their time and effort.
6,861: Number of tickets sold to all Cannonball shows combined (!!!)
$13.69: Average price paid per ticket
78% of all non-comp festival tickets were sold in advance, 22% were sold at the door
54.4%: Median paid capacity across every Cannonball performance (this means that half of our ticketed Cannonball performances had less than 54.4% of the audience filled, while half had more)
$88,912: Approximate total value of ticket sales before fees
$79,500.00: Approximate total value of tickets sold less FringeArts 10% and payment processing fees
$6,856: Approximate amount of additional $ collected by FringeArts for ticket service fees
$230,000: Approximate total cost of producing Cannonball Festival. That money came from:
46.7% Earned revenue (including ticket sales)
31.5% Contributed revenue (grants and individual giving)
21.6% In-kind donations (things, such as beer and rehearsal space, and trackable time donated)
PLUS: Countless hours of labor from Cannonball Volunteers, staff donating extra time, artists stepping up to help each other and the festival happen, and all of the artist labor involved in creating and producing your performances!
And that money went to:
34.3% Artist fees and stipends
33.0% Staff payments
$60,950 paid to 32+ individuals including box office and stage management staff, producers and associate producers, additional artistic staff, designers, overhire, technical, marketing, and administrative staff, and PR.
